What does a Doula do?
Doula Support can be tailored to fit your desired Birthing Plan. A Miracle Happened Wellness and Birth Services offers many prenatal services that can start as soon as you find out that you are expecting. On the other side of the spectrum, some families prefer to wait for hands on Doula support two weeks before they are due. We wholeheartedly support your decision, and look forward to meeting you to discuss your birthing vision. Let's make an initial consultation appointment today to discuss this further.
Doulas can help you create a healthy, informed, healing environment, which in turn can help you feel empowered along your birthing journey.
Doulas help you achieve this by providing you with evidence based information and tools that can support you during your prenatal period.
Facilitating "prenatal visits" is one of the many services that a Doula can provide. During your prenatal visits, a wide variety of topics can be discussed before baby arrives, such as; creating a birthing plan, labor pain coping strategies, preparing your hospital bag, aromatherapy relaxation techniques, breastfeeding support, childbirth review, involving your partner, how to ask the doctors the hard questions...and more.
Generally, a Doula is "on call" two weeks before your due date to provide emotional and physical support. During this time, practicing labor pain coping strategies, and finalizing your birth wishes can occur.
A Doula would then be present to provide support during your entire labor process, as well as immediately after delivery for up to two hours. Once you are discharged from the hospital, a Doula can also schedule "follow up post partum visits" to check on your newborn care needs, provide breastfeeding support, help with meal planning, encourage self-care strategies for a healthy you...and more.

My Miracle
"A miracle happened, late last night.

Yvonne D. Greer is my Mother. She wrote that poem within an hour of birthing me. I was a 2 pound 2 ounce preemie, and she was out of state visiting family for the 4th of July holiday. I wasn't due for another two months, when I decided to make my entrance into the world. I can't even imagine the fear, the turmoil, and the chaos, that my Mother must've felt. However, in that moment, she was able to find a peace within. She was able to center herself long enough to write a poem highlighting the beauty of her birth journey, and her new baby girl.

The intentions written for my life that day, in that moment, were gifts to my spirit, my beginning, and my humanity. The intentions written that day serve as a guide for me in my Doula practice. They will forever remind me to always support women in finding their peace along their own birthing journey. As I know, it can make all the difference.

Birth Doulas
By providing Birth Doulas, we give you the undivided, unbiased and professional support needed to ensure your journey is as safe and positive as possible. Your Doula will be available to contact anytime, and is committed to whatever you feel would benefit you, your baby, and your family most. Postpartum Follow Up Support
Our Doula support does not end when your new bundle arrives. Postpartum Doula support begins immediately after delivery, and continues in the hospital for up to two hours. Once you are discharged from the hospital, a Doula can schedule "follow up post partum visits" to check on your newborn care needs, provide breastfeeding support, help with meal planning, encourage self-care strategies for a healthy you...and more.
